David Rapley, the visionary property pioneer behind Cambridge-based Rheebridge, is on the lookout for a new generation of property investment opportunities, following the successful sale of its 50% shareholding in award-winning Laragh House Developments.
Rheebridge is delighted to announce that, following several years of an incredibly successful partnership, it has sold its stake-holding in the award-winning Laragh House Developments, to Houghton Homes. The partnership between Rapley and Laragh founder Simon Somerville-Large has been a great success, and has seen Laragh evolve from a small, consultant-based development business to a large regional player in residential development, with award-winning schemes at The Pastures, Harston and Manor Farm, Stretham, as well as central Cambridge schemes such as Kings Keep, 35 Parkside, Middleton Green, St Giles House & Mulberry House on Storey’s Way.

David Rapley has been prolific in his 30 years of property development and investment, having purchased and been involved in over 100 prime sites across England, with more than 30 of them in Cambridge City Centre, with a GDV of well over £1 Billion. In particular, he has always been drawn to ground-breaking projects that set new standards for property development.
Prior to Rheebridge, David Rapley founded Camstead in 1990, which he built up to become one of the largest and most highly regarded developers in East Anglia, before successfully selling the company in 2007. Highly-acclaimed Camstead schemes in Cambridge include: the Art Deco-influenced Tamara House of eleven apartments; Centro, a development of 151 contemporary student apartments just off Hills Road, which was Cambridge’s first ever purpose-built scheme of privately owned student apartments; restoration projects such as Felbrigge House on Hills Road, which included a rear extension of eight well-appointed apartments; elegant apartment developments such as the 10 stunning apartments at The Grange, Glebe Road and a further 15 at Garden Court, Adam & Eve Street; and beautiful family houses including 24 luxury homes at Fairsford Place and four exclusive detached homes at The Quarter, Long Road.
Founded in 2008, Rheebridge invests directly in property companies and joint ventures on individual sites, whilst also carrying out its own developments. In 2014, Rheebridge completed the award-nominated Hobbs House at Parker’s Piece, Cambridge, a Regency-inspired development comprising 11 individually designed luxury apartments and penthouses. Hobbs House is a landmark building which required a hand-picked team of architects, interior designers and conservation experts to bring the original vision to life.
