Building a community
Rheebridge is committed to building new developments which embrace sustainability and quality of life by making material contributions to social, economic and environmental issues within the community.
Over the years, David Rapley has developed a personal passion for creating exciting new developments, establishing a diverse portfolio of highly prestigious projects that has spread his unique vision far from his Cambridge base to include new and historic properties across Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Essex and London.
David was founder and Managing Director of Camstead Homes, which he built to become one of the largest and most highly regarded developers in East Anglia, before selling the company in 2007. Stand-out projects included the highly-acclaimed, Art Deco-influenced Eleven building, and the groundbreaking Centro, Cambridge’s first ever purpose-built scheme of privately owned student apartments. But there were opportunities to breathe new life into historic properties too, including prestigious developments in Harrow on the Hill, London, and the beautiful Georgian town of Stamford. A selection of the past projects David has created whilst at Camstead can be viewed here.
Rheebridge completed Hobbs House, a uniquely located apartment scheme in the centre of Cambridge overlooking Parker’s Piece. The boutique development comprised a stunning new-build four storey Georgian style building which is home to only nine luxury apartments and two rooftop penthouses which can be viewed here. All the apartments were sold off plan.
In 2012, Rheebridge acquired a stake in leading Cambridge-based developer, Laragh Homes. The company has completed many high profile critically acclaimed and award-winning developments across the city including Kings Keep apartments on Castle Street, 11 houses on Cavendish Road, 10 apartments at the Lexington scheme, Long Road, 3 large multi-million pound Arts & Crafts style houses on Storey’s Way, 9 high quality houses at The Pastures, Harston and a highly desirable development of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties at Manor Farm at Stretham near Ely.
